Our cousin was arrested about an hour ago and we need to take him out of the Indio Jail ASAP. Is there any way we can expedite his bail bonds? Someone told me that if we pay an extra fee to a Riverside bondsman we can get him out right away.
Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up the arrest, booking and release process at the jail and if a bondsman tells you they can “expedite” bail bonds, it’s not the case.
When someone is arrested, they’ll need to be transported to the jail and from there they’ll be placed in a holding cell until the jailer is ready to begin the booking process. If the jail is busy, the defendant could wait more than an hour. Once the booking process begins, the defendant will also need to undergo a national background and warrant check, which takes between 4 and 6 hours to complete. The jailer will not allow anyone to post bail bonds until the warrant check is complete.
Bail bonds can be posted once the jailer indicates they have all of the necessary paperwork. After bail bonds are posted, it will take several more hours for the jail to process the release paperwork.
