Sources within the Riverside County Jails say 15 people have been booked into local detention centers after law enforcement agencies conducted a mass compliance check operation.
The checks took place at more than 65 locations throughout Indio, they said, and officers were wanting to make sure that probationers were playing by the rules.
Several people were arrested because they were found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia; another was taken into custody because he lied to police about his true identity. Several were brought in because they had warrants and others were booked into the Indio Jail because law enforcement found weapons in their home.
The defendants are likely to be denied bail bonds until they see a judge.
A number of agencies participated in the sweep, they said, including the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the California Department of Corrections, the City of Coachella Special Investigation Team, the Riverside County Gang Taskforce and the Rehabilitation Parole Investigators.
