A man who is believed to have held up a La Quinta women at the end of July has been booked into the Riverside County Jail.
Deputies said the Indio man is alleged to have robbed an area resident on July 25th in an area along Highway 111. According to the victim, now defendant Chad Schupp approached her with some sort of weapon and demanded she hand over her personal property.
She complied with the request, she said, and from there she ran to a nearby business to take cover.
Schupp was arrested after a brief investigation. He’s since been booked into the Riverside County Jail where he was released after posting $30,000 bail bonds. The cost to hire a bondsman would have been 10 percent, or in this case, $3,000. It’s unclear whether the Indio bondsman required the cosigner to post collateral to guarantee Schupp’s appearance in court.
Jail records show he’s set to appear before a judge before the end of August.
