A motorcyclist who gave chase to Riverside Police Department officers along Highway 91 will be booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on felony charges, police said.
Authorities say the unnamed man was speeding, which is what prompted Riverside PD officials to pursue him. The rider did not stop but instead, took off traveling westbound. At some point during the chase the man crashed into a car.
Sources say the man sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he needed to undergo surgery. His condition since the surgery has not been made public.
According to a report by Press Enterprise, police said he will be arrested once he receives medical clearance and he’ll be booked into one of the Riverside County Jails. The suspect will likely be charged with felony evasion. It’s not immediately clear if the motorcyclist has any outstanding warrants. If he does, he will face additional charges, as well.
Bail bonds information will be determined once he completes the booking process.
