Sources within the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that five people were arrested as the result of a recent drug sweep.
They also said they discovered an anti-tank weapon at one of the homes they searched. The weapon in question is designed to be fired one time only, and since the device was an empty tube without its projectile, authorities do not believe it could have been used a second time.
RCSD deputies said they also found drugs, firearms and approximately $20,000 worth of stolen property.
The five arrestees were handcuffed, read their rights and transported to the Indio Jail. Each defendant faces felony charges that span from drug possession, possession of a firearm by a felony, child endangerment and possession of drugs with the intent to sell.
The defendants that were already on probation at the time they were taken into custody they will be ineligible to post bail bonds unless a judge decides to release those holds.
