Two residents have been arrested by the Temecula Police Department after a search warrant was executed on their home. A person close to the raid reportedly said marijuana, methamphetamine and guns were found inside the residence.
More than 10.5 ounces of pot and methamphetamine were confiscated, officers said. Numerous fire arms were also seized. The approximate street value of the drugs was not immediately made available.
Ronald McGinnis was arrested and transported to the Southwest Detention Center to be booked and processed. He is being charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and being an addict in possession of firearms.
Cheryl Cleave was arrested and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was also taken to the Southwest Detention Center to be booked into the system.
Defendant McGinnis bail information was not immediately available. Defendant Cleave was released on Dec. 19 after arranging a $2,500 bail bond. Both defendants will need to return to court in order to be arraigned. Their court dates will likely take place in mid January 2013.
Possession of large amounts of methamphetamine can often lead to steep fines and/or jail time. It is unclear whether defendant McGinnis will plead guilty, not guilty or no contest to the charges being bought against him.
