Police Department Information
UC Riverside Police Department
3500 Canyon Crest Drive
Riverside, CA 92521
Members of the UC Riverside Police Department (UCPD) are fully sworn officers with the same powers of any law enforcement officer in the state of California. They have been protecting the students, faculty and staff of the UC Riverside campus since 1954.
When someone is arrested on campus, they will be taken to the nearest holding facility for booking. In many cases, this is the Robert Presley Detention Center. During booking, the individual will be fingerprinted and photographed. A background check and warrant search will also be done.
Personal belongings that are with the defendant will be collected and held until they are released from jail. If there are no outstanding warrants, a bail amount will be set according to the Riverside County bail schedule.
After booking is complete and bail is set, we can post the bond for their release. It can take several hours for someone to be released from jail, so keep this in mind and please be patient. The jail staff must always maintain the safety inside the jail above all else.
